Bacterial conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye, is a highly contagious eye infection. Symptoms often include redness in one or both eyes, thick yellow or green discharge, itching or burning sensation, and increased tearing. Unlike viral conjunctivitis, bacterial conjunctivitis requires medical treatment.
